One Layer Sprinkle Cake with Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

Cake

1 1/2 cups cake flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

6 tbsp butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

2 large egg whites, room temperature

1/3 cup sour cream, room temperature

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 cup whole milk, room temperature

1/2 cup jimmies, *see Note 1

Frosting

3/4 cup butter, softened

3 cups confectioner's sugar

3 tbsp half and half cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

salt, to taste

1/2 cup sprinkles

Directions

1. "Jimmies" are elongated sprinkles and can be found in the same section of the bakery aisle.
