CLEAN and SLICE mushrooms; PAT dry.

2.

In a large skillet, FRY bacon until lightly browned; REMOVE from pan onto paper towels.

3.

ADD butter to pan drippings; ADD onions; SAUTE until lightly browned.

4.

ADD mushrooms; COOK until tender, STIRRING often.

5.

STIR in wine, salt, pepper, paprika, nutmeg and mace; COVER pan; COOK over low heat 15 minutes.

6.

REMOVE pan from heat; ADD bacon, cream and lemon juice; REHEAT until warm--do not let boil.
