In a large mixing bowl, using your hands, MIX together the first 8 ingredients until just combined (don't overmix); SHAPE into 1/4 pound patties.
HEAT oil in a large skillet over medium high heat; ADD patties; COOK until browned on each side, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
REMOVE patties from skillet; SET ASIDE; RESERVING drippings in skillet.
ADD onions and mushrooms; COOK, STIRRING, until tender, approximately 5 minutes.
SPRINKLE flour over onions and mushrooms; STIR well while scraping burger bits off sides of skillet.
Slowly ADD beef broth, STIRRING well.
REDUCE heat to medium low; COOK, STIRRING frequently, until thickened, about 5 minutes.
RETURN patties to skillet; REDUCE heat to low; COVER; SIMMER until patties are fully cooked, approximately 10 minutes.
