CUT in shortening thoroughly, until mixture looks like meal; STIR in milk.

DROP by spoonfuls onto hot meat or vegetables in boiling stew(Do not drop directly into the liquid.)

COOK uncovered 10 minutes; COVER and COOK about 10 minutes longer or until dumplings are fluffy.
