In large saucepan, SAUTE onion and celery in butter until transparent.

BLEND in flour, salt, paprika and tabasco.

ADD bay leaf and half of milk; COOK until thick.
4.
ADD cheese and STIR until melted; *SEE NOTE.

ADD rest of milk gradually, STIRRING.
6.
REMOVE bay leaf; ADD crab meat; KEEP warm; *SEE NOTE.
