1.

MIX thoroughly shortening, sugar and eggs; ADD flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and vanilla.

2.

ROLL dough into balls the size of walnuts.

3.

MIX the sugar and cinnamon; ROLL the dough balls in the mixture.

4.

PLACE cookies on ungreased cookie sheet 2" apart and FLATTEN slightly with a fork.

5.

BAKE at 375 Funtil lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes.
