In a small saucepan over medium heat, ADD cubed potatoes and broth; COOK until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.

In the meantime, FRY sausage over medium heat, STIRRING to crumble until done, about 10 minutes; DRAIN.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, MELT butter; ADD onions; SAUTE until clear.
4.
ADD flour to sauteed onions; STIR in milk until mixture is thickened.
5.
ADD cooked potatoes with broth and cooked sausage to onion mixture.
6.
ADD cheese, salt and pepper; SIMMER until heated through.
