1.

PEEL and SLICE apples; SPRINKLE with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon; PLACE in baking dish.

2.

Make a crust by BEATING the egg, ADDING the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, flour, oatmeal and salt; MIX well; ADD the butter and vanilla; STIR in the nuts.

3.

SPREAD crust mix over apples (Will not cover completely).

4.

BAKE at 350F for 30-40 minutes.

Very good served warm with cream or vanilla ice cream.

1. May also use pecans in addition Recipe is easily doubled
