PREHEAT oven to 325 F.
GREASE a deep 9 1/2" glass pie plate or baking dish; SPREAD cranberries on bottom; SPRINKLE with 1/2 cup of the sugar.
BEAT eggs in a medium bowl; gradually ADD remaining 1 cup sugar, beating well.
STIR in flour and butter; when mixed, POUR over cranberries.
BAKE approximately 1 hour; COOL at least 10 minutes before cutting into wedges.
SERVE warm or cold topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
