STIR together garlic and oil; BRUSH cut sides of tomatoes evenly with mixture; SPRINKLE on salt and pepper.

2.

HEAT grill to medium-high (375°); GRILL tomatoes about 2 minutes per side.

3.

SPRINKLE with chopped basil.

To make tomatoes rest easily on grill grid, first take a small slice off both ends (at stem), then slice in half. Oil and season both cut sides.
