FORM ground beef into four equal patties; SPRINKLE salt and pepper on both sides2PREHEAT grill to high; REDUCE heat to 350 F, PLACE burgers on rack and SHUT lid3COOK each side for 6 to 7 minutes, TURNING once4SERVE on lightly toasted buns with toppings of choice.

For cheeseburgers, ADD slice of cheese at end of cooking period; cover and allow to MELT slightly before removing burger from grill. For bacon-wrapped burgers, WRAP a strip of bacon around each patty before cooking and SECURE with a toothpick.
