In a large skillet, HEAT oil; COOK crushed pepper one minute.

2.

STIR in garlic and peanuts; COOK over medium heat, STIRRING constantly, five minutes.

3.

REMOVE from heat; SPRINKLE with salt and chili powder.

4.

DRAIN on paper towels; COOL completely.

Store in an airtight container. Teaspoon salt is not needed if using salted nuts.
