PREPARE dressing (see below).
Just prior to serving, TEAR lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
TOP lettuce with onion rings, oranges, and pecan mix.
In a small jar, COMBINE all ingredients; COVER and SHAKE to blend.
At serving time, pour dressing over salad and toss lightly.
Lettuce should make about 1/2 pint per serving when torn.
