In a small mixing bowl, MICROWAVE V-8 juice on high for 1 minute; ADD bread pieces; let COOL.

2.

STIR together juice and bread, ADDING egg, salt and pepper; ADD ground beef; MIX thoroughly; SHAPE into 5 patties.

3.

HEAT grill to medium-high (375°); GRILL patties about 7-8 minutes per side, until beef is no longer pink.

4.

SPRAY inside surface on buns with cooking spray; PLACE buns cut side down on grill until lightly browned, about 2 minutes.

For a full "on the grill" dinner suggestion, serve burgers with grilled tomatoes and grilled corn with jalapeno-lime butter; garnish the whole deal with dill pickle spears.
