Directions

1.

In mixing bowl, CREAM brown sugar and butter.

2.

ADD eggs, orange peel, and vanilla; BEAT until fluffy.

3.

In a separate bowl, MIX flour, baking powder, soda and salt; ADD in portions to creamed mixture, ALTERNATING with buttermilk; BEAT after each addition.

4.

DROP tablespoonsful onto ungreased baking sheet; BAKE at 350F for ten minutes.

Icing

1.

COMBINE orange peel, orange juice, and butter; STIR in powdered sugar.

2.

SPREAD over cooled cookies.
