MIX tomatoes, salt, pepper and onion.

In a separate bowl, MIX cracker crumbs and cheddar cheese.

3.

PUT half the tomato mixture in buttered, shallow 1 1/2 quart baking dish; TOP with half the crumb mixture; REPEAT.

4.

BAKE in preheated 350 Foven 30 to 45 minutes.
