A crisp candy, not as hard as peanut brittle, with the taste of the toffee center of a Heath Bar

1.

LINE an 8-in square pan with foil; RUB foil with 1/2 tablespoon butter to coat; SET aside.

2.

SPREAD another 1/2 tablespoon butter on the sides of a heavy saucepan.

3.

ADD 1/2 cup butter, sugar and corn syrup to saucepan.

4.

BRING to a boil over medium-high heat, STIRRING constantly.

5.

COOK and STIR until mixture is golden brown, about 3 1/2 minutes; STIR in almonds.

6.

Quickly POUR mixture into prepared pan; CHILL until firm.

7.

INVERT pan and REMOVE foil; BREAK candy into pieces.
